About Beyonce
Beyonce released her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, in 2003, which gained two number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy it became one of the most successful albums of that year, earning five Grammy Awards.
Following the disbandment of Destiny's Child in 2005, Beyonce released her second solo album, B'Day, in 2006, which was in the top 10 singles "Déjà Vu", "Irreplaceable" and "Beautiful Liar".
Her third solo album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), gained the hit singles "If I Were a Boy", "Single Ladies "Halo" and "Sweet Dreams". The album helped Beyonce earn six Grammys in 2010, breaking the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night.
Beyonce's fourth solo album, 4 (2011), became her fourth consecutive number one album on the Billboard 200 as a solo artist. This made her the third artist in history to have her first four studio albums debut a top the chart.
About The Song
I Miss You was written by Knowles, Frank Ocean and Shea Taylor while production was handled by Knowles and Taylor. The song's development was motivated the fact that Knowles wanted to focus on songs being classics, songs that would last, and songs that she could sing when she becomes old. A mid-paced R&B ballad, "I Miss You" is influenced by the ballads of the 1980s. Its instrumentation consists essentially of synthesizers and keyboards. "I Miss You" finds Knowles, as the protagonist, thinking deeply over her relationship with her love interest from whom she parted; however, she still pines for him and feels self-conscious for doing so.
"I Miss You" was generally well-received by music critics who complimented its very sparse production as well as its aurally remarkable 1980s influence. Some of them also described the song as a "haunting" ballad and called it the highlight of the record. Critics also complimented how Knowles' vocals keep on alternating from desperate and calm throughout the song, and highlighted the vulnerability in her voice. Following the release of 4 in early July 2011, "I Miss You" charted at number 184 on the UK Singles Chart and at number 34 on the South Korea Gaon International Singles Chart, based on downloads alone. The song was part of Knowles' set list for her 4 Intimate Nights with Beyoncé, held in Roseland Ballroom, New York City in August 2011.
Why I Chose This Song
I chose this song because firstly I am a huge fan of the artist. I also believe this song could relate to many people by it being entitled "I Miss You" already indicates someone who may miss their ex etc. Which is why I believe it could reach out to a wide range of an audience as many songs does.

Beyoncé has cited various artists who have influenced her musical style. She grew up listening to songs of Anita Baker and Luther Vandross, the latter of whom she eventually collaborated with, but often credits Michael Jackson as the reason why she does music and her hero. She also was exposed to the jazz music of Rachelle Ferrell, after singing Ferrell's songs during her voice lessons. Knowles cites influences from American artists Tina Turner, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Housto, Janet Jackson, Selena, Mary J. Blige, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Mariah Carey and the Colombian singer Shakira.

About The Song
Three unreleased tracks surfaced on YouTube recently, and they’re each snapshots of the singer in three very different points in her career. The first song, “Serial Killer,” could have been a bonus track on Born To Die, all high drama, canned strings and beats that could have been on a rap song. “Ooh Baby,” is uncharacteristically funky and kind of great, and the cheeky “Summer of Sam” would have probably been better off buried deep in the interwebs, but here you have it.
Serial Killer - Is one of Lana Del Rey's unrealsed songs, it is very dark as she talks about being a "socialpath.... Because I love you just a little too much". Thsis indicates how she may be in a obessive relationship.
The song is also daunting, and you get the sense of mystery which is seen through many of her songs such as 'Summertime Sadness' 'Carmen' and so forth.
Why I Chose This Song
Despite the song being unrealised meaning it doesn't have much publicity on it, I believe it is a very good song. I like the mystery behind the lyrics, I also like how it creates a story, and if I chose this song I would want to create a quite concept base video which will allow the audience to come up with there own interpretation of the song.

I really like the song I'll Never Forget You as it is very peaceful. Likewise the Beyonce song, I believe this song could relate to a lot of people, which will bring in a high target audience from a wide range of ages.
Birdy's Music Inspirations
She got ‘noticed’ from her cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love”, which is a fabulous song regardless of who sings it. But the song that personally made me swoon over her, is her version of ‘People help the People’. Nothing could be more symbolic of what our generation is going through on Earth. We’re finally learning that it’s not getting us anywhere being selfish and greedy. We’d get so much further as a whole, if we learn to love each other and work together.
