New Behind-The-Scenes Photo's

These are the pictures which where taken by me whilst Chisara was preparing Dana who plays Florence's split personality.

This was me testing out the pregnant belly to see if this actually would work effectively
These are the props which we used to create the pregnant effect; by using the swimming costume it was able to hold the stomach in place and gave it a convincing pregnant belly effect

This picture taken of Jessica whilst playing the Character of Florence filmed by Chisara

Picture of Chisara outside whilst having some fun before shooting the outdoor scenes.

Shots outside whilst the actresses were getting ready; as we were preparing to shoot outside

This is me with my 'serious look' whilst looking at the story-board trying to figure out what type of props were needed for each scene.
This is me and the cast memebers before shooting the very emotional scene

Saturday 10th march we filmed are 2 minutes opening from scratch!
We started again as our first opening wasn't the greatest but by getting feedback from our teacher we were able to see where we needed to improve on and we did. Overall these images are just me and the cast having some fun during our filming. As you can see we have two new cast members which were added to the changes of our thriller opening.

New still images of shooting scenes

These photo's of Dana was a still shot of her being in role as Florence split personality; we used dark make-up and red lipstick and a Anti-Christ to symbolise she is a evil character.
This photo of Audrey (playing Scarlett) whilst shooting the scene outside; by her holding her belly indicates she is pregnant; we shot outside because the mise en scene created a nice atmosphere which contrasted to the actual plot of our thriller opening.

These are the shots of the Jessica and Dana whilst looking out the window; this created tension as you wouldn't expect to show Dana which is playing the character of Florence's split personality
This photo is again of Jessica and Dana; by them standing together shows the different contrast of their personalities.

This is the beginning shots of Audrey as Scarlett when she is awaiting to see if the pregnancy test is positive.
This is the night shot of Audrey when the nightmare is occurring.

Overall these are a few images which were taken place whilst shooting; we took pictures which indicates the key moments in the opening.

Added Photo's for Location reports

Front door of house has a dark reddish door which significes danger and with the white outline contradicts itself with the door as this shows purity.

This is the scene where you see Audrey walking down the street; by the lack of people etc shows the its a quite commuity.
The house is very old fashioned and with the dead branches creates the scary atmosphere which you'll see that takes place.
The picture of the houses indicate that the community can be very close but also it shows that the don't looked lived in/ they don't come outside the houses which could implie dark secrets which take place.
These image's are from outside the house. Where we will be shooting the scene of Scarlett (played by Audrey) walking down the road; then into the house. We choose to shoot outside to show the beautiful atmosphere which is a contrast of our storyline; this also shows how wealthy the Cole's are as the neighbourhood is very Victorian/old fashioned.
The mise en scene creates such a beautiful atmospher; with the sunny sky and beautiful houses which contradicts from what actually happens in the thriller opening.
The reason we did this was to make what was going to happen in the following scene's unexpected for the audience.
The Unspoken Truth (The First Two Minutes)

It is 2010. Our film follows the story of a rather unsettled family, in which the main protagonist of the play, Scarlett Cole is schizophrenic, a disease unknown to her and her daughter, Scarlett. Our story follows their lives as it unfolds in the dire way it does, revealing just how mad Florence is, and the consequences it has for their family.

Florence Cole is a mother of one: Scarlett Cole. Florence is a strict but loving mother who (to herself) does what is right for her daughter, as she expects no less. However, in reality, her daughter Scarlett suffers as a result of her mother’s conflicting personality, and suspects that she indeed needs psychiatric help.

Scarlett gets pregnant at the age of 16, and is too scared to tell her mother, because she knows how she would take it- not very well. Florence, as a concerned mother (now in her good personality) is upset as any mother would be, but agrees to support her daughter. However, this triggers a very calamitous development in her negative personality, as she becomes even more violent.

We fast forward eight months later, where we find Scarlett very heavily pregnant, working her way through her pregnancy to help support her baby. Two weeks later, she gives birth to a baby boy, who she calls Raymond. She still has to support her baby she does not stop working.

On the other hand, Florence’s disease is developing and is becoming more and more violent and one evening, while Scarlett is at work, Florence goes into Raymond’s room while he is sleeping, and takes him and drops him at the orphanage.

The story unfolds as Scarlett comes home and her mother is crying at the door and tells her that she is so sorry but Raymond is dead. She goes on to explain that it was a cot death and Scarlett runs up the stairs to try and see for herself because she knows her mother’s tendencies but alas, there is no baby in the room.

Ever since that night, Scarlett has had dreams about her child -nightmares where she hears him crying and calling for her, in which she proceeds to wake up from, but she can still hear his baby monitor and faint crying and her worst fears are coming to life- that she is becoming just as mad as her mother.

New Casting Notes

This is Audrey Mascarenhas who will be playing Scarlett Cole, Comfort Botha was was currently playing Scarlett couldn't make it when we were filming; but we were thankfully, and luckily able to get another amazing drama student who is Audrey. It was a great choice of picking Audrey because she is phenomenal at drama, and her facial expression alone brings so much subtext which is very effective.
This is Dana Talabi, who will be playing Florence Cole's split personality; Dana is another amazing drama student; she has played crazy, intense roles before so we knew she would fit this character and will have no problems.

Updated Film Treatment

OUR FILM HAS PRACTICALLY THE SAME STORY-LINE; BUT MY GROUP AND I DECIDED TO ADD SOME MORE ASPECTS TO IT. ( the bold writing will show the changes we've made in the film treatment)

The type of thriller movie me and and group are doing is, supernatural/psychological. Our movie is called "the unspoken truth" and is about a young adopted girl who gets pregnant and has a very angry mother which suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The young girls mother then takes the baby to an orphanage but tells her that the baby has died from a "cot death". The mother did this as she was provoked by her "other half"(her split personality will be shown by another character)

The girl then becomes an emotional wreck and starts hearing baby crying noises at night and in her dreams the mothers split personality appears; she feels like she can hear/feel her baby at times. When the young girl gets older she then started work at the same orphanage her baby got sent to. Her son realise who she because of her name and starts his revenge following her every footstep and watching over her at night.

Once her son followed her home where he witnesses a conversation where he realises it was in fact it was his grandmother that sent him away. He then starts plotting a plan for his grandmother to shows his mother what an evil woman she really is; but does he manage to succeed in revealing the truth?...............................................

New Changes SMC productions has made

With the first set of filming not going particularly successful after showing sir; my group and I made some changes. We made a new story board which will show the highlighted scenes, we are now doing more close up shots etc which will create tension.

We have also slightly changed the story-line to our thriller opening 'The Unspoken Truth', in the new footage you will see we have introduced a new character played by Dana Talabi which represents the split personality of Florence Cole (played by Jessica Ansah)

We have also changed one of our characters Comfort Botha who was formally playing Scarlett Cole, the new person player her will be Audrey Mascarenhas
